This objective is green, because of four main initiatives, three are ranked as green, and one is ranked as yellow.

a. Tree Campus USA initiative – Malone submitted its proposal to the National Arbor Day Foundation in January 2017. 

b.  All Professional Development – Funding from the Lilly Foundation together with summer IT training and restoration of professional development resources have enabled this initiative to progress. 

c. “Own the Plan” Initiative – this is a provost office initiative to updated and increase institutional embrace of our Strategic Plan. It has involved bringing our ClearPoint tracking system up to date and engaging the campus in plan update activities. This initiative is slightly behind schedule and is currently yellow

d. Complete Final Draft of HLC Assurance Argument – this initiative is green because the assurance argument was completed in January 2017.

  • Be more efficient with RaisersEdge database to assist with coordinating, planning and executing of events and constituent communication
  • Faculty searches in Criminal Justice and Marketing to support new programs; aligning new criminal justice program with Malone foundations & ethos
  • Yearly carnival for special needs children; new gifted outreach
  • Implement new and strengthen existing academic and support programs that embody and leverage Malone’s distinctive institutional strengths in ways that respond to student need and the evolving higher education environment. Resources will be allocated to support new and existing initiatives that sustain the institution and further its mission. [% of capital budget requests tied to Learning Impact Reports and Program Assessment Impact Reports; meeting minutes will reflect data-driven decision making and evidence of incorporation into processes]
  • Create and implement professional development activities for all categories of employees [Measure: Roster of events, monitor participation and representation; participant evaluation of events]

This objective is yellow, because of four main initiatives, two are ranked as green, and two are ranked as yellow.

a. Tree Campus USA initiative – The plan to develop a master plan for tree and plant specimens is green. A committee is charged with presenting a plan to the president by the end of the semester.

b.  All Professional Development – A shared initiative across several campus offices to ensure that all employees have appropriate professional development opportunities related to their work is yellow, primarily because of reductions to professional development budgets this year. 

c. “Own the Plan” Initiative – this is a provost office initiative to updated and increase institutional embrace of our Strategic Plan. It has involved bringing our ClearPoint tracking system up to date and engaging the campus in plan update activities. This initiative is slightly behind schedule and is currently yellow

d. Complete Final Draft of HLC Assurance Argument – this initiative is green with a draft of the argument expected by the end of the semester.
