This objective is ranked yellow. It includes four initiatives, three of which are yellow and one of which is green.

The project to increase residence hall residency is yellow. While differential prices for certain halls with amenities and single rooms were successfully introduced, overall occupancy is down.

The initiative to implement assessment related change is yellow.

Enterprise resource planning staff training initiative is green. Plans for ongoing training are on schedule.

Strengthen Infrastructure

  • Successful launch and execution of capital portions of the comprehensive campaign, enhancing campus facilities for academics, athletics and the arts
  • Summer academic camps
  • Development of attractive student places (e.g. Emma’s, commuter lounge, Center for Student Success tutoring spaces)
  • Created onboarding process with check-list for new hires
  • Migrating from manual time sheets to electronic timesheets creating better tracking, efficiencies and paper reduction
  • Development and implementation of federally-mandated Affordable Care Act medical cost tracking system
  • Placed medical plan open-enrollment documents on Malone Express creating efficiency and paper reduction
  • Seeking electronic employment applications from candidates improving storage, tracking and search capabilities and reducing paper utilization
  • Required all student work participants to utilize electronic direct deposit options for payroll reducing paper and increasing efficiency
  • Develop cash reserves, and grow endowment [In each year that there is a positive change in net assets, the university will set aside a percentage as reserves (% approved by the BOT)]
  • Develop a plan to attract and retain residential students [90% dormitory occupancy rate]
  • Implement a plan to increase revenue from events and auxiliary services [Measure: % increase in revenue from events & auxiliary services]
  • Develop a clear systematic plan to create the foundation for data driven decision-making. [Pursue options for data management and analytics warehouse for information sharing across campus] [Update: Three presentations reviewed were too expensive]
  • Train staff on use of ERP system [Increase % staff trained on the use of the ERP system (Jenzabar); Increase % participation in employee training (e.g. IT summer courses)] [We asked that Mike and IT to track and report on response and involvement in staff and faculty training and profession development]
  • Develop a plan for creating physical places for enriched opportunities for student interaction [Improvement in Student Satisfactory Inventory (SSI) gap scores]

This objective is ranked yellow. It includes four initiatives, two of which are yellow, one of which is green, and one of which is red.

The initiative to centralize data holding, sharing, and reporting is red. Costs to accomplish this initiative were investigated and are prohibitive. This initiative will be evaluated for removal from the strategic plan.

The project to increase residence hall residency is yellow. While differential prices for certain halls with amenities and single rooms were successfully introduced, overall occupancy is down.

Enterprise resource planning staff training initiative is green. End of the school year and ongoing training on enterprise systems for employees continues with good participation. 

Student spaces plan initiative is yellow. While some upgrading of student spaces has occurred, a comprehensive plan for updates is not yet developed.
